posted on July 19th 2017 in 1-day with 0 Comments /, the country’s leading daily deal website, is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this month. The business has also just processed its ten millionth order, cementing its reputation as one of New Zealand’s most popular online shopping stores.

The milestone caps off a successful year for 1-day. While other daily deal sites have fallen by the wayside, 1-day is still thriving. The business achieved 13% growth in FY16 with a total trading revenue of $54 million.

The company has grown from offering three deals per day at midday, to more than 300. The business is still firmly entrenched in the Waikato region, employing over 100 local people.

Greg Bell, General Manager of 1-day, believes that the secret to the brand’s success lies in the hard work of the company’s employees, a passion for customer service, and the ability to evolve.

“One of the turning points for the brand took place in 2013. The leadership team sat down and evaluated the direction 1-day was going in,” explains Greg. “The result was 1-day taking steps to become a wholly customer centric business.

“Over the past four years, 1-day has put customer service firmly at the heart of the company. Having real people answering the phones, Live Chat, and email prompts for delivery status, has all helped our customers’ peace of mind when shopping with us.”

Since 1-day was founded, the business has also bolstered the domestic supply chain, and now offers more New Zealand products and brands than ever before.

“Over the past 10 years, we have been fortunate enough to form relationships with many household names, including Kiwi founded and owned brands,” says Greg. “It’s important to us that we give back to the New Zealand economy when we can, by working with other New Zealand brands and businesses. They have been integral to reaching that record sales goal, along with our employees and customers.”

As far as future plans go, Greg says that 1-day will continue to do what it does well. The 1-day team is dedicated to providing Kiwis with an extensive variety of quality products, at a great price point. Being customer led continues to remain a priority.

Strategies are in place to continue expanding and improving the business offering. This includes plans to grow 1-day’s marketplace and wholesale channels, to enable the site to continue providing New Zealander’s with the best prices. Holding the majority of stock in the company’s purpose built 15,000m2 warehouse will help them achieve this particular goal.

1-day has a number of birthday celebrations and promotions in the pipelines this month, including a joint customer competition with AirAsia, a brand that is also celebrating its 10 year anniversary in New Zealand. With $10 deals and 10 UE Booms to be given away, July will be a month of celebrations across the 1-day website and social media channels. This includes the 1-day Facebook page, which has nearly 200,000 fans, and serves as a fun and genuine online community for 1-day’s loyal customer base.
