From 3-23 May, Bakers Delight New Zealand will be giving Finger Bun fans around the country the opportunity to get behind KidsCan and help children living in hardship.

Thousands of iced Finger Buns covered with red and blue sprinkles will be sold throughout the brand’s bakeries. $1 from every KidsCan Finger Bun and $2 from every KidsCan Mini Finger Bun 4-Pack will be donated to KidsCan.

Bakers Delight is aiming to raise at least $30,000, enough to provide kids in need with 600 raincoats, 750 pairs of shoes and 1500 pairs of socks.

The Bakers Delight fundraising initiative for KidsCan is the first step in a new charity partnership between Bakers Delight and KidsCan. The bakery brand has a number of other in-store fundraising drives, customer promotions and events already in the pipelines for the next 12 months.

“We are so pleased to be able to support KidsCan,” says James Morton, Bakers Delight New Zealand Country Manager. “As a family owned business, we care deeply about giving back to the community and it means a lot to be able to help some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Our bakers and bakery owners are very excited to get started with our first fundraising effort.”

KidsCan is a Charitable Trust  that provides food, clothing and basic health care in schools to enable Kiwi kids living in hardship to reach their full potential. The organisation currently works with over 700 low decile schools across New Zealand.

“We are thankful for the support of Bakers Delight New Zealand,” says Julie Chapman, CEO & Founder of KidsCan. “With their help, we’ll be able to help even more Kiwi kids in need, by providing them with food at school, a raincoat, shoes and socks, and health and hygiene items.

“The Bakers Delight New Zealand team, both at support office and at the bakeries themselves, are so enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference in their local communities. We’re very much looking forward to working together to give Kiwi kids in need the start in life they deserve.”
