Salt & Pepper PR started working with Babich Wines in early-2014 on a public relations strategy for the upcoming 100-year birthday. The plan was to build up activity over the next two years, enabling Babich to use the once in a lifetime event to increase brand awareness and educate trade and consumers about the aspects that differentiate Babich from other competing wine businesses. From 2015-2016, we reached out to wine, food, lifestyle and consumer/trade media and bloggers in Australia, the U.K, Canada, China, the USA and New Zealand, introducing them to Babich and pitching stories related to the significant milestone the business is preparing to celebrate.
This resulted in international coverage in FOUR Magazine (global food magazine), Wine Biz (Australia), FOOD Magazine (Australia), Wine Spectator (USA), and Wein-Pur Magazine, among others, as well as stories in Idealog, the Herald on Sunday, NBR, Cuisine, Taste, Stuff, Country TV (SKY), NZ Food Technology, Hospo Nation and NZ Wine News here in New Zealand. Babich has received multiple media visitors from overseas, including Winsor Dobbin (food/wine writer from Tasmania), Mr Zipeng HAN (Hans) from GQ China and Ms Sheng Yi GAO (Sandy) from Restaurant Review Magazine/Winepress. We work closely with NZTE, NZ Winegrowers and KEA to ensure we are getting our messages out through as many channels as possible and hear about any opportunities that might be available in New Zealand or overseas (events, tastings, chef collaborations etc.)
Activity will continue to ramp up throughout 2016, with a series of international events, incoming media visits, confirmed media features (including TV) and other PR and marketing initiatives in the pipelines.
