We started working with New York Deli in 2017. This fast-growing restaurant franchise was first established in Christchurch but has big plans for the future – including openings in Queenstown and Paihia. New York Deli is best known for its New York style Hero sandwiches, which are made from the highest quality, natural, wholesome ingredients. The sandwiches are huge and are recognised as outstanding value. New York Deli prides itself on treating customers like old friends and do everything they can to ensure they have a great time while in the deli.
Salt & Pepper PR looks after New York Deli’s social media presence on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. We manage their entire social media strategy and work very closely with the owners of New York Deli to ensure the most compelling, effective messages are being communicated to the right audiences. We use social media to raise awareness of the brand among consumers, and also to get the business in front of potential franchisees. We draft social media posts four weeks at a time, then post them throughout the month. Our service also covers all content creation (images, videos etc.), including photo editing.
So far, the social media approach has been very successful. After just a month, post engagements were up by 879% and the number of people reached had increased by 274%. The number of fans of the New York Deli Facebook page increases by almost 100% each and other month. There are now more than 7,000 people following the brand on Facebook, which is a fantastic achievement for a business that is still South Island based (for the moment, anyway!)
Salt & Pepper helps New York Deli with advertising placement and design/creation on an as needed basis. We have created advertisements for their new franchisee campaigns, including for Mountain Scene, Queenstown’s regional newspaper. We have a professional camera and editing suite, which enables us to provide a high-quality content creation service. We enjoy managing both the PR and advertising elements for clients as we can ensure that the brand messaging is seamless and consistent across all marketing mediums.
Along with the social media activity, we also manage New York Deli’s public relations strategy. For now, this is primarily focused on trade and business to business PR, to support the brand’s business development efforts. Media coverage so far has included a front cover story about the business owners in NZ Business Magazine, as well as multiple pieces in regional newspapers and NZ Franchise Magazine.
