Texas Chicken New Zealand opened the doors to its first Rotorua restaurant on Friday, which is also the fried chicken brand’s first location outside of Auckland. They celebrated by giving away a year’s supply of fried chicken to one lucky winner. There were also other spot prizes, including cooler bags filled with goodies for the very first customers.

Texas Chicken Rotorua will be serving up the full high-quality Texas Chicken menu, including its hand-battered, freshly cooked chicken pieces, burgers, wraps, a variety of sides and its world-famous honey butter buns.

“We’re really excited to be bringing Texas Chicken to Rotorua. The response on opening day was fantastic,” says Texas Chicken New Zealand Country Manager, Allan Simons. “The customers at our three Auckland stores have been enjoying our crispy, juicy fried chicken and sides for a few years now. It’s time to spread the love and let people outside of Auckland see what all the fuss is about!

“The Rotorua restaurant is in a wonderful location with lots of passing traffic,” he adds. “The restaurant itself is a lovely modern space and will be an ideal place to catch up with friends and family for a tasty, casual lunch or dinner. We’re looking forward to providing some great fried chicken and exciting employment opportunities to the local area.”

Texas Chicken already has a second restaurant planned for Rotorua. The second location will be on Maisey Place, Fairy Springs and is likely to be open by January 2019. Another year’s supply of Texas Chicken will be on offer on launch day.

It has been three years since Texas Chicken landed in New Zealand from the USA and started providing Kiwis with its freshly prepared chicken and sides. Texas Chicken prides itself on serving chicken that is bigger, crispier, juicer and more flavoursome than many other brands.
